House bill would limit some calorie labels

images124Good news for grocery stores and pizza shops!  An article recently was posted stating that the majority of the House approved some leniencies in regards to the soon to be mandatory menu labeling act, to officially take effect on Dec. 1, 2016.  In summary; supermarkets with prepared foods will not have to have individual nutrition labels on all their items, but instead must have the nutrition information available either in a printed menu or on a menu board.  As for pizza shops, they may be able to have their nutrition information posted online only instead of on the menu board, pending some other criteria.  My Menu Match can help with any of these soon to be headaches for the smaller restaurant who just needs basic nutrition information on record for their items…contact us today!
